Palos Blancos is a small, quiet community located in the municipality of Corozal, Puerto Rico. It's a rural area, meaning it's more like the countryside than a big city. In 2010, about 3,458 people called Palos Blancos home. It's known for its natural beauty, including a special state forest.

A Look Back in Time

Palos Blancos has a long history. It was part of Spain's records for many years. After the Spanish–American War, Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States. This happened because of the Treaty of Paris of 1898.

In 1899, the United States government took a count of everyone living in Puerto Rico. They found that 1,367 people lived in Palos Blancos at that time.

Monte Choca State Forest: A Natural Treasure

One of the most special places in Palos Blancos is the Monte Choca State Forest. This forest became a state forest on November 21, 2003. It was made a protected area by law.

The forest covers about 244.76 acres. It is located in one of the highest parts of Corozal. This makes it a great place to see different plants and animals.
