Pals is a charming medieval town located in Catalonia, a region in northern Spain. It's just a few kilometers from the beautiful Costa Brava coastline, right in the middle of the Bay of Emporda. You can find Pals along the C31 road, which connects Palafrugell and L'Estartit.
Pals is also a stop on the GR 92 long-distance walking path. This path generally follows the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Pals is part of an inland section of the path, between Torroella de Montgrí and Begur. If you walk north from Pals, you'll pass through Palau-sator. If you head south, the path goes directly to Begur.

Exploring Pals: Main Sights
Pals has a very old and interesting town center. It sits on a hill, surrounded by flat plains. The most famous landmark is a medieval Romanesque tower. It was built between the 11th and 13th centuries and is known as the Torre de les Hores, or "Tower of the Hours." This clock tower stands about 15 meters (49 feet) tall.
The Historic Gothic Quarter
The Gothic Quarter of Pals has been carefully restored. As you walk through it, you'll see cobbled streets and beautiful stone buildings. There are semicircular arches and windows with pointed arches. Many buildings also have lovely stone balconies. The old town wall still stands, featuring four square towers that are very ancient, dating back to the 4th century.
Other Interesting Places
There are several other cool spots to check out in Pals:
