Playing for Netball Clubs
Pamela Cookey played for several top netball teams. She started with Team Bath in the Netball Superleague. This is a major netball competition in England.
Team Bath Success
Pamela helped Team Bath win two championships. They won in the 2005–06 and 2008–09 seasons. This showed her great skill and teamwork.
Playing in New Zealand
In 2009, Pamela also played in the ANZ Championship. This was a big league in Australia and New Zealand. She joined a New Zealand team called the Northern Mystics.
Joining Surrey Storm
Later, Pamela joined another English team, Surrey Storm. She became a player for them in the 2015 Super League season.
Representing England
Pamela had a long and successful career playing for the England national netball team.
Early Career and Challenges
She was first chosen for the England team when she was only seventeen. This was for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. However, she could not play due to a knee injury. The next year, she was picked again. But she had to withdraw because of her studies at the University of Bath.
Making Her Debut
Pamela finally made her first senior appearance for England in 2004. This was in a game against Australia.
Winning Medals
She won a bronze medal with the England team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Four years later, she won another bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In the same year, she also won a silver medal at the World Netball Series.
Pamela's Life Outside Netball
Away from the netball court, Pamela Cookey also had an important job. She worked as a manager for Airbus UK. This company makes airplanes. She managed the building facilities at their site in Filton, Bristol.
