Pamela Asibie Cookey, born on September 2, 1984, in Birmingham, West Midlands, is a famous former English netball player. She was known for playing mostly as a goal attack (GA). Team Bath Success

Pamela Cookey played for Team Bath in the Netball Superleague. This is the top netball league in the United Kingdom. She joined the team when the league started in 2005. With Team Bath, she helped her team win two championship titles. They won in the 2005–06 and 2008–09 seasons.

Playing in New Zealand

In 2009, Pamela also played in a different league called the ANZ Championship. This league included teams from Australia and New Zealand. She joined a New Zealand team called the Northern Mystics. This gave her experience playing netball at a very high international level.

Joining Surrey Storm

Later in her career, Pamela moved to another English team. She joined Surrey Storm for the 2015 Super League season. This move meant she could play alongside her former teammate, Tamsin Greenway, again.

Early Career and Challenges

Pamela Cookey was first chosen for the England national netball team when she was only 17 years old. This was a big surprise for many people. But she had to withdraw because she needed to focus on her studies at the University of Bath.

Making Her Debut and Winning Medals

Pamela finally made her first senior appearance for England in 2004. This was in a match against Australia. Two years later, she achieved a great success. She won a bronze medal with the England team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

She continued to play strongly for England. In 2010, she won another bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Later that same year, she helped England win a silver medal at the World Netball Series. This showed her skill and dedication to the sport.

Life Outside Netball

Away from the netball court, Pamela Cookey also had a professional career. She worked as a manager for Soft Services at the Airbus UK site. This site is located in Filton, Bristol. Her job involved managing building facilities.
