Xenophanes in Thomas Stanley History of Philosophy
The ancient Greek thinker Xenophanes is sometimes seen as an early pandeist.

Pandeism is a belief that a higher power, often called God, created the Universe by becoming the Universe itself. This means that after creation, God and the Universe are the same thing. People who follow this belief are called Pandeists.

Because God is now the Universe, Pandeists believe this higher power cannot act or interfere with things in the world. They think that to understand God, people should use logic and reason, rather than old religious traditions. Pandeists believe that everything that exists is a part of God, or that God is a part of everything that exists. The word "Pandeism" combines "Deism" (a belief in a God who created the universe but does not interfere) with "pan" (meaning "all").

Pandeists do not believe the Universe was created by a sudden, unplanned event. They also do not believe in supernatural events like miracles. They think that God became the natural laws of the Universe. This means God does not need to step in and change these laws. Pandeists also see holy books, like the Bible or Qur'an, as writings made by people, not directly by God. They believe that humans are also part of God. So, if someone feels they see or hear God, Pandeists might say they are actually experiencing the part of God that is within themselves.
