Francisco Javier Fernández Peláez (born 6 March 1977) is a famous retired Spanish race walker. He is also known as Paquillo Fernández. He was especially good at the 20 km race walk event.
Race walking is a sport where athletes walk as fast as they can. They must keep one foot on the ground at all times. It is different from running because of this rule.
On 27 July 2008, Paquillo set a new world record. He completed the 10-km race walk in just 37 minutes and 53.09 seconds. This was a very impressive achievement in his career.

Olympic Games Success
Paquillo represented Spain at the Olympic Games. This is the biggest sports event in the world.
