Parafroneta is a group of very small spiders, known as dwarf spiders. They are found in the South Pacific region, mainly in New Zealand. This group of spiders was first described by a scientist named A. D. Blest in 1979.

What are Parafroneta Spiders?

Parafroneta is a genus of spiders. A genus is a scientific way to group together different types of animals that are very similar. These spiders are part of the Linyphiidae family, which is one of the largest families of spiders. Spiders in this family are often called "dwarf spiders" because they are usually quite small.

Where Do Parafroneta Spiders Live?

All known species of Parafroneta spiders live in New Zealand. This includes the main islands and some smaller surrounding islands, like Campbell Island. They are a unique part of New Zealand's amazing wildlife.
