Pariacaca is a very tall mountain in the Andes mountain range in Peru. It is also known as Paryaqaqa or Tullujuto. The name Paryaqaqa might come from Quechua words meaning "reddish rock" or "sparrow rock." Tullujuto could mean "bone heap."
Pariacaca is the highest peak in the Pariacaca mountain range. It stands about 5,751 meters (18,868 feet) above sea level. This impressive mountain is located right on the border between the Junín and Lima areas of Peru.
Long ago, people living in the Andes considered Pariacaca a very special and sacred mountain. It held great importance in their beliefs and stories.
