Paris Township is found in the eastern part of Portage County. It shares its borders with several other townships.

Communities and Land Use
There are no big cities or towns completely inside Paris Township. However, a small area called Wayland is located in the western part of the township. This is an unincorporated community, meaning it doesn't have its own local government separate from the township.
Paris Township was originally part of the Connecticut Western Reserve. This was a large piece of land in Ohio once claimed by Connecticut. The township covers an area of about 23 square miles (61.9 square kilometers). A significant part of the northern township is used by the Ravenna Training and Logistics Site. This is a large area used for military training.
The Story of Paris Township's Name and Past
Paris Township was first created around the year 1810. Its name comes from a place called Paris, New York.
Past Names and Post Office
Over the years, the community was also known by other names like Parisville and Paris Center. A post office, where people could send and receive mail, was opened in Parisville in 1827. It stayed open for many years until 1890.
