Park Elizabeth Cannon (born June 6, 1991) is an American politician from the state of Georgia. She is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 58th district. She is also a member of the Democratic Party.

Early Life and Education
Growing Up in Georgia and New York
Park Cannon was born in Albany, Georgia. Her father was in the United States Marine Corps. Her mother worked in the medicine field. After her parents separated, Park and her family moved to Brooklyn, New York.
School Days and Learning Languages
Park went to Poly Prep Country Day School. There, she was a leader on the dance and step teams. She also ran track and cross-country. During this time, she learned about different European languages.
College Years and New Skills
After high school in 2009, Park started college at Chapman University. She later moved to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She finished her degree in 2014. She studied Hispanic Linguistics and also women's and gender studies. Because of her studies and trips to Central and South America, Park can speak Spanish and Portuguese very well.
Working for Health and Leadership
After college, Park worked at a health center in Atlanta. She helped promote good health for women. She also worked to encourage new laws to improve health care. In 2018, she completed a special leadership program at Harvard University. She was recognized in 2021 for her leadership.
Political Career
Becoming a State Representative
When Simone Bell, who was the representative for the 58th district in the Georgia House of Representatives, decided to leave her job, she asked Park Cannon to run for the position. Park ran and won the special election in 2016. She became a state representative.
Serving on Committees
As a representative, Park Cannon works on several important committees. These include committees for Code Revision, Creative Arts and Entertainment, Ethics, Human Relations and Aging, Insurance, and Small Business Development. These committees help make decisions about different areas in Georgia.
Seeking a National Role
In July 2020, after the death of Representative John Lewis, Park Cannon applied to be the Democratic candidate for a seat in the United States House of Representatives. She was one of the top five candidates out of many who applied. However, the party chose another person for the role.
Speaking Out at the Capitol
On March 25, 2021, the Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, was signing a new law. Park Cannon wanted to talk to the Governor about her concerns regarding the bill. She knocked on the Governor's office doors. Officers asked her to stop. She was then removed from the area. This event caused a lot of discussion. The local prosecutor later decided not to pursue charges against Park Cannon.
