Parvati Venugopal Nair, born on December 5, 1992, is an Indian model and actress. She works in the South Indian film industry. Parvati grew up in Abu Dhabi in a Malayali family. She studied to become a software professional at Manipal Institute of Technology. She started her modeling career when she was 15 years old.
Parvati Nair began acting in the Malayalam film Poppins in 2012. She played a main role in five parts of this film. After that, she appeared in many popular films across South India. These include Story Kathe (2014) and Yennai Arindhaal (2015). Her role as a young journalist in Story Kathe earned her the Best Kannada Debut Actress Award. For her role in Yennai Arindhaal, she received praise from critics. In 2015, she also starred in the successful film Vascodigama, where she played an English lecturer.

Parvati was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Her family is from the Malayali community. She has an older brother. Her father is a businessman in Dubai, and her mother is a professor.
Parvati went to Our Own English High School in Abu Dhabi. She then studied Computer Science and Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal, Karnataka, India. She hoped to work as a software engineer.
She became a full-time model after winning the "Miss Karnataka" title. She then became an ambassador for Mysore Sandal Soap. She also won "Navy Queen Kerala." After this, she appeared in many advertisements for print and television.
As a model, she has worked with many well-known brands. These include Anchor, Asian Paints, Malabar Gold, and Reliance. She also worked with ANA Airlines Japan and Renault cars.
Her Acting Journey
Starting Out (2012-2013)
Parvati Nair first worked in a jewelry advertisement for director V. K. Prakash. She then made her acting debut in his film Poppins (2012). She also took on other roles in Malayalam films. She played a traditional bride in the horror film Yakshi – Faithfully Yours (2012).
Later, she started working on bigger films in the Malayalam film industry. She played Jayasurya's wife in the action film D Company (2013). Her part in the film, called Gangs of Vadakkumnathan, received good reviews.
Nair made her debut in the Kannada film industry with Story Kathe (2013). This role earned her the Best Debut Actress award at the 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards. She played a TV journalist trying to help a medical student. Critics liked her performance, and the film did well.
In 2013, Parvati Nair was a judge on "Super Models," a modeling reality show on Amrita Television. She also appeared in a music video called "Ariyathe Ninayathe." Bangalore Times listed her as one of the "Most Desirable Women" in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. She has also given motivational talks at events like TEDx Bangalore.
Becoming Well-Known (2014)
In 2014, Parvati Nair worked on two big Tamil films. These were Gautham Vasudev Menon's Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain (2015). She was chosen for Yennai Arindhaal after a successful screen test. She starred alongside Ajith Kumar, Trisha, and Anushka Shetty.
Parvati said it was "a dream-come-true" to be in the film. She played Elizabeth, a strong character seeking revenge. Her performance received much praise from critics.
Nair also auditioned for Uttama Villain, directed by Ramesh Aravind. She played the girlfriend of Kamal Haasan's son. Her role grew as filming continued. She was very happy to work with Kamal Haasan, calling it like "going to an acting school." The film received good reviews and was a big project for her.
She then appeared in the Kannada film Vascodigama (2015). She played a college lecturer alongside Kishore. Parvati also sang for the first time in this film. The song had both Kannada and English lyrics. The film was well-received by critics and did well at the box office.
Parvati played the main role in Enkitta Mothathe, a period film. She later appeared in James and Alice. Her next film was Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga, directed by R. Parthiepan. Her acting in this film was highly appreciated.
She performed stunts without a body double in the road thriller Overtake. This Malayalam film received good reviews. She also starred with Mohanlal in the movie Neerali. This film also received positive reviews. Later, she appeared in Amazon Prime's first Tamil series, Vella Raja.
Parvati Nair received the Indian Affairs "Most Promising Actress 2017" award. This was at the 8th Annual India Leadership Conclave in Mumbai on August 4, 2017.
Parvati Nair also worked with a US-based fashion brand called Yog The Label. They sold products featuring her pictures around the world.

Parvati Nair has been a guest model at Indian fashion weeks. She often appears as a "showstopper" for clothing lines. In 2013, she was the main model for Sakshi Bindra's collection at Chennai International Fashion Week. She also promoted the fashion industry at India Luxury Style Week in 2015. In 2016, she was a showstopper at Bangalore Fashion Week and the Keralan Fashion League.
She was a judge on Amrita TV's reality show, Supermodels, in 2013. She also judged the Miss India Bangalore 2015 beauty pageant. Her popularity as a model helped her enter the film industry. She gained recognition across all four South Indian states.
Nair was chosen as the brand ambassador for the Karnataka Bulldozers team in the 2016 Celebrity Cricket League. She attended their matches across South India. She shared this role with actress Sharmiela Mandre. Parvati said she grew up watching cricket in the United Arab Emirates. Her father and brother played the sport often. She also attended matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL Season of 2015. She even played cricket while filming Uttama Villain (2015).
Parvati Nair has also taken part in charity events. In November 2014, she helped clean the streets of Vasanthnagar as part of the Clean Bengaluru Challenge. Peta India chose her as an ambassador for their "adopt a stray dog" campaign. She was also a brand ambassador for the World Junior Squash Championships in Chennai.
