The Malayali people are a group of people who speak the Malayalam language. They originally come from the southern part of India, specifically the state of Kerala. Sometimes, they are also called Keralites.
There are about 39 million Malayali people in the world. Most of them, around 34 million, live in India. Many Malayalis also live in other countries, like the United Arab Emirates, where about 1 million reside. The Malayali people follow different religions. About 55% are Hindus, about 27% are Muslims, and about 19% are Christian.
