Pascual Fresquet Llopis (born in Alcalà de Xivert in 1907, died in 1957) was a person from Valencia, Spain. He was known for his role as a leader during the Spanish Civil War. He led a group called the Brigade of Death.
Early Life and Family
Pascual Fresquet Llopis was born in 1907 in the town of Alcalà de Xivert. When he was a child, his family moved to La Torrassa. This area was part of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and had many working-class people. Most of them were connected to the CNT.
His parents worked hard to support the family. His father worked on the Barcelona Metro, which is the city's subway system. His mother, Purificación Llopis, managed an inn. This inn was located on Carrer Sugranyes.
Role in the CNT
Pascual Fresquet became an important figure in the CNT. The CNT was a large workers' organization in Spain. In 1936, he became the president of the CNT construction union. This union was located in the Sants neighborhood.
Spanish Civil War Activities
The Spanish Civil War began in 1936. During this time, Pascual Fresquet took on a leadership role. He became the commander of a unit known as the Brigade of Death. This group was linked to the FAI. The Brigade of Death was involved in many serious conflicts during the war.
