The Barcelona Metro (in Catalan and Spanish: Metro de Barcelona) is a huge train system in Barcelona, Spain. It's a key part of the city's public transport network. Most of its tracks run underground in the city center. Some parts also go above ground into Barcelona's suburbs.
This metro system has 12 lines and 189 stations. Together, all the tracks stretch for 166 kilometers (about 103 miles). It helps millions of people travel around Barcelona every year.
