Pasquo is a neighborhood located in Nashville. It sits along State Route 100 in Davidson County. Pasquo is part of the larger Bellevue area. It is officially part of the government of Nashville and Davidson County.
About Pasquo
Pasquo used to be a quiet, country area. But recently, it has grown a lot. This is because Nashville's suburbs are expanding more to the west.
Since Pasquo is not a separate town or a special area counted by the government, its exact population is not known. The US Census does not measure or report how many people live there.
Local Radio Station
Pasquo is home to a unique radio station called "Radio Free Nashville." Its call sign is WRFN-LP. This is a "low-power" FM radio station. This means its signal does not travel very far.
WRFN was the seventh "community radio barnraising" project by the Prometheus Radio Project. This project helps local groups start their own radio stations.
Where the Name Comes From
The name Pasquo is actually a shorter version of "Pasquotank." There was once a nearby community called "Tank," but it no longer exists.
The name Pasquotank comes from Pasquotank County, North Carolina. This is where some of the first settlers in the Pasquo area came from.
Natchez Trace Parkway
Pasquo is also an important spot for the Natchez Trace Parkway. This historic road ends its journey here. It is the "northern terminus" (or northern end) of the parkway.
