Early Life and Education
Pat DeCaro was born in Philadelphia. When she was 16, her art was recognized in a big city-wide exhibit. She studied art at Temple University and Tyler School of Art. Both of these schools are in Philadelphia. Later, she moved to Seattle. There, she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree. This was from the University of Washington.
DeCaro also received a special scholarship. It was called a Fulbright Fellowship. This allowed her to live and study art in Italy for two years. After her time in Italy, she returned to Seattle. She still lives and works from her art studio there today.
Art Career
Pat DeCaro showed her artwork regularly for many years. From 1990 to 2013, her paintings and drawings were often seen at the Francine Seders Gallery in Seattle. She has also had solo art shows in other countries. These include cities like Dusseldorf, Paris, and Milan. She even showed a video she helped create in Istanbul.
DeCaro has been an artist-in-residence at several places. These are special programs where artists can live and work. Some of these places include the MacDowell Colony and the Pilchuck Glass School. In the Pacific Northwest, her art has been shown at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. She also had a solo exhibit at Gallery 4Culture in Seattle in 2016.
