Patricia Ann Kennedy (born 25 June 1942 – died 28 May 2022), known as Patricia Brake, was an English actress. She was famous for playing Ingrid Fletcher. Ingrid was the oldest daughter of Norman Stanley Fletcher in the TV show Porridge. She also appeared in its follow-up show, Going Straight.

Early Life
Patricia Brake was born in Bath, England, on 25 June 1942. Her father, Victor Brake, was a butcher. Her mother was Doreen Brake.
She went to the City of Bath Girls' School. When she was 16, she started training to be an actress. She studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. After that, she worked at the Salisbury Playhouse for two years. She also spent a year with the White Rose Players in Harrogate.
Acting Career
Patricia Brake joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. This is a very famous theatre group. She played Hermia in a play called A Midsummer Night's Dream. Famous actors like Judi Dench and Ian Holm were also in this play.
She then performed in London's West End. This is where many big theatre shows happen. Patricia Brake also appeared in many TV shows. Some of these included Emergency – Ward 10 and No Hiding Place. She also acted in films like My Lover, My Son (1970).
Her most famous role was Ingrid Fletcher. She played Ingrid in the BBC sitcom Porridge. Ingrid was the daughter of the main character, Norman Stanley Fletcher. Patricia Brake also played Ingrid in the show's sequel, Going Straight.
Later in her career, she appeared in other popular TV shows. These included Casualty and Midsomer Murders. She also had roles in well-known British soap operas. These were EastEnders and Coronation Street. She worked with many British comedy actors too.
Personal Life
Patricia Brake married actor Robert McBain in 1966. She adopted his son from a previous marriage. They also had two more children together. They later divorced in 1978.
In 1997, she married Michael Kennedy. She gained two stepchildren through this marriage. Michael Kennedy passed away in 2011. Patricia Brake died from cancer on 28 May 2022, when she was 79 years old.
