Paul Charles Aars was an American stock car driver. He was born on June 4, 1934, in Curaçao. He later lived in San Mateo, California. Paul Aars passed away on January 23, 2002, at the age of 67.
Paul Aars' Racing Career
Paul Aars competed in NASCAR, which is a famous car racing organization. He raced in what was then called the Grand National Series. This series is now known as the Cup Series. It is the top level of NASCAR racing.
His Only NASCAR Race
Paul Aars raced in just one event in the Grand National Series. This race was the Crown American 500. It took place on June 1, 1958. The race was held at the Riverside International Raceway in Riverside, California. A total of 46 drivers participated in this big race.
Paul Aars started the 500-mile race in 45th place. He drove a Ford car from 1956. Even though he started near the back, he had a great finish! He managed to finish the race in 10th place. This was a very good result for his only start. The winner of the race was Eddie Gray. Paul Aars earned $200 for his 10th place finish. He ended the 1958 season ranked 67th in points.
