In the 1990s, Paul Frank Sunich was a student. He studied art at Orange Coast College. This college is located in Costa Mesa, California.

Starting His Creative Career

Paul Frank bought a sewing machine to work on small projects. One day, he used some extra orange vinyl fabric. With it, he made a unique wallet.

His friends saw the wallet and really liked it. They asked him to make other things too. So, Paul started sewing items like guitar straps and backpacks.

Paul Frank Industries

A few years later, Paul Frank teamed up with two partners. Their names were Ryan Heuser and John Oswald. Together, they started a company called Paul Frank Industries. The company was named using Paul's first and middle names. They created the company to keep up with the high demand for his products.

At first, Paul worked another job during the day. But in his free time, he sewed and sold his designs. The company grew very quickly. They even worked with many bands, artists, and other companies.

What Happened Next?

Paul Sunich left Paul Frank Industries in November 2005. He had disagreements with his business partners at the time. After leaving, he started his own design studio called Park La Fun.

Then, in February 2016, Paul Frank returned to Paul Frank Industries. The company was now owned by Saban Brands.
