Paul Ireland is an actor from Ardrossan, Scotland, born in 1970. He is well-known for playing Superintendent Duncan Hayes in the TV show Neighbours.

Paul's Acting Journey

Paul Ireland started his career in a very different way! For five years, he worked as a fishmonger in his father's shop in Greenock. But he soon decided to follow his dream of acting.

In 1995, Paul performed in a play called Trainspotting in London's West End. This play was very successful and even won an award for Best New Play.

Over the years, Paul has appeared in many British TV shows. These include Judge John Deed, The Bill, and Midsomer Murders. In 2011, he got a role in the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours. He played Superintendent Duncan Hayes for many episodes. He even returned to the show in 2013.

Paul also acted in the Australian comedy show Outland in 2012. The show's writers specifically wanted a British actor for the part. In 2016, Paul also worked behind the scenes. He helped produce and direct an Australian drama film called Pawno.

More recently, since 2018, Paul has been in the Australian TV drama Playing for Keeps. In this show, he plays Andrew Macleish, who is the president of a football club.

Paul Ireland is married to a casting director named Thea McLeod. They have a son together, Finn Ireland, who is also an actor. Paul also has a daughter named Georgia Blue Ireland from his first marriage.

After growing up in Scotland, Paul lived in London for thirteen years. In 2009, he moved to Australia, where he lives now.
