Paul Ireland, born in 1970, is a talented Scottish actor. He comes from a town called Ardrossan in Scotland. Many people know him for his role as Superintendent Duncan Hayes in the popular Australian TV show Neighbours.

Paul Ireland's Acting Journey
Paul Ireland didn't start his career in acting. He first worked for five years as a fishmonger in his father's shop in Greenock. After that, he decided to follow his dream and learn how to act.
Early Theatre Work
In 1995, Paul performed in a play in the West End of London. This play was based on the book Trainspotting and was shown at the Ambassadors Theatre. The show was very successful and even won an award called the Sunday Times Best New Play.
TV Roles in the UK and Australia
Throughout his career, Paul Ireland has appeared in many British television shows. Some of these include Judge John Deed, The Bill, and Midsomer Murders.
In April 2011, he joined the cast of the Australian soap opera, Neighbours. He played Superintendent Duncan Hayes and was originally planned to be in thirteen episodes. Paul first appeared in Neighbours in Episode 6183. He returned to the show as Duncan Hayes in 2013.
In 2012, Paul also acted in an Australian Broadcasting Corporation comedy series called Outland. The writers of the show wanted a British actor for the role, and Paul was a great fit.
Other Projects
In 2006, Paul Ireland was part of an online game from BBC History called CDX. In this game, he played a soldier named MacKinnon. Later, in 2016, he helped make and direct an Australian drama film called Pawno.
Since 2018, Paul has been in an Australian TV drama about AFL called Playing for Keeps. He plays Andrew Macleish, who is the president of the Southern Jets football club.

Paul Ireland is married to Thea McLeod, who works as a casting director. They have a son named Finn Ireland, who is also an actor. Paul also has a daughter named Georgia Blue Ireland from his first marriage.
After leaving Scotland, Paul lived in London for thirteen years. In 2009, he moved from the United Kingdom to Australia, where he lives today.
