Paul Michael Glaser (born Paul Manfred Glaser; March 25, 1943) is an American actor, director, and writer. He has worked in movies and television for over fifty years! You might know him best as "Detective Dave Starsky" from the popular 1970s TV show Starsky & Hutch.
Besides acting, Glaser has also directed many TV shows and movies. Some of the shows he directed include Miami Vice and Judging Amy. He also directed films like The Running Man and The Cutting Edge. In recent years, he has also shown his artwork in exhibitions.

Early Life and Education
Paul Manfred Glaser was born on March 25, 1943. His hometown is Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States. He was the youngest child of Dorothy and Samuel Glaser. His father was a well-known architect in Boston.
Paul went to the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School. Later, he transferred to the Cambridge School of Weston and finished high school there. He then attended Tulane University. He studied theater and English and graduated in 1966. He also earned a master's degree in acting and directing from Boston University in 1967.
Acting and Directing Career
Paul Michael Glaser started his movie career in 1971. He played the role of Perchik in the musical film Fiddler on the Roof.
His most famous role was Detective Dave Starsky. He starred alongside David Soul in the TV series Starsky & Hutch. This show was very popular and ran for four seasons from 1975 to 1979. Glaser also directed several episodes of the show.
After Starsky & Hutch, Glaser continued to act. He also became a successful director. He directed the 1987 movie The Running Man, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also directed the 1992 film The Cutting Edge.
Glaser directed episodes for many other TV series. These include Miami Vice and Judging Amy. In 2003, he appeared in the movie Something's Gotta Give. He also had a small role in the 2004 Starsky & Hutch movie. He even directed the children's movie Kazaam, which featured Shaquille O'Neal.
From 2013 to 2019, Glaser appeared in the TV series Ray Donovan. He played the character Alan in several episodes. In 2018, Glaser had his first art show in Hollywood. He called it "Act III" because it was the third part of his career, after acting and directing.
Personal Life
Paul Michael Glaser has been married two times. His first wife was Elizabeth Glaser. They got married in 1980. In 1981, Elizabeth became very sick after giving birth to their first child, Ariel. Later, the family found out that Elizabeth, Ariel, and their second child, Jake, were all very ill. Ariel passed away when she was seven years old. Elizabeth also passed away in 1994.
Glaser later married Tracy Barone. She adopted Jake, who was 10 years old at the time. They also had a daughter named Zoe. This marriage ended in 2007. Jake has remained healthy and has kept a good relationship with Tracy.
