Before joining the Yankees, Olden worked as a radio and TV announcer. He did "play-by-play" for many teams. This means he described the game as it happened. He worked for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and California Angels. He also announced for the Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Eagles.
