Stepping In and Staying On
Anthony Field needed an operation and asked Paul to fill in for him. This was supposed to be for only five weeks. Paul took on many roles during that tour. He played the Blue Wiggle, Wags the Dog, and Captain Feathersword. He even played Dorothy the Dinosaur, who was usually played by Murray Cook.
What started as a short job turned into a full-time role. Paul has been touring and performing with The Wiggles since late 1995. He also appears in all their TV shows made in Australia.
The "Fifth Wiggle"
Paul Paddick became very well-known with the band. People often call him the "Fifth Wiggle." This nickname shows how important he is to the group. He also helps voice Henry the Octopus, along with Jeff Fatt.
Fun on Stage
Paul is known for being very funny. During Wiggles concerts, he often does amazing vocal impressions. He can sound like famous singers such as Mick Jagger and Cher. These impressions are often a highlight of The Wiggles' live shows. Anthony Field says that Paul is "as funny offstage as on."
