Paulo Roberto Jamelli Júnior (born July 22, 1974), known as Jamelli, is a Brazilian football coach and former player. He mainly played as a forward, which means he was a player who focused on scoring goals.
Jamelli's Football Journey
Jamelli started his professional football career in his hometown of São Paulo, Brazil. He played for São Paulo FC. He then joined Santos FC, where he really showed his talent. He scored 13 goals during his two seasons there.
His skills caught the eye of teams outside Brazil. Jamelli moved to Japan to play for Kashiwa Reysol. In January 1998, he moved to Spain to join Real Zaragoza. He became an important attacking player for the team.
Winning the Copa del Rey
Jamelli had a great season in 2000–01. He scored 13 goals in La Liga, which is Spain's top football league. That same year, his team, Real Zaragoza, won the Copa del Rey. This is a major Spanish football cup competition. Jamelli even scored a goal in the final match, helping his team win 3–1 against Celta de Vigo.
After Real Zaragoza was moved down to a lower league in 2002, Jamelli returned to Brazil. In January 2003, he joined Corinthians. He finished his playing career in 2006. He played for a few more teams, including Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan and UD Almería in Spain.
