What Makes Pedraforca Unique?

Pedraforca has a very unusual shape, like a giant fork. It has two main peaks that stand side-by-side. These peaks are called pollegons. They are connected by a lower section, which is like the "neck" of the fork. This part is known as the enforcadura.

The taller peak is called Pollegó superior. It reaches an impressive height of 2,506.4 meters (about 8,223 feet). Close to it is another peak, el Calderer, which is 2,496.4 meters tall. The slightly lower peak is the Pollegó inferior, standing at 2,444.8 meters. The highest point of the Enforcadura is 2,356.2 meters. You can also see large areas of loose rocks, called scree fields, on both sides of the mountain.
