Peel en Maas is a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It was created on January 1, 2010. This area is part of the Limburg province.
The municipality includes several towns. These are Panningen, Helden, Kessel, Kessel-Eik, Maasbree, Baarlo, Beringe, Egchel, Grashoek, Koningslust, and Meijel. More than 40,000 people live here.
Peel en Maas has many useful places for its residents. These include a high school, a public library, and a swimming pool. It also has a good public bus system. Each town in the municipality has its own special feel. The official slogan for Peel en Maas is "beleef de ruimte!" which means "experience the space!".

History of Peel en Maas
The towns of Peel en Maas are in the Limburg province of the Netherlands. This province was once part of the southern, Catholic areas of the Low Lands. Over time, these towns were ruled by different countries. They were under Belgian, German, and finally Dutch control.
Each town has a strong local identity. There is a friendly competition between them. This is especially true during the yearly carnival celebrations.

- The Maas river runs along the right side of the municipality. You can find a nice boulevard in the city of Kessel.
- To the south, there is the Musschenberg and the Weerdbeemden nature reserve. Along a path here, you can find an old Roman street. Roman coins have been discovered in this area.
- You can visit Castle de Keverberg in Kessel.
- The Sint Antonius Windmill is also in Kessel.
- Castle de Berckt is located in Baarlo.
