Peggy Deamer facts for kids
Peggy Deamer, born on February 15, 1950, is a well-known architect and a teacher of architecture. She used to be a professor at Yale University. Her work often looks at how creative people do their jobs. She also helped start a group called The Architecture Lobby (TAL), which supports architects.
About Peggy Deamer
Peggy Deamer studied at several universities. She earned her first degree from Oberlin College. Then, she got a Bachelor of Architecture from Cooper Union. Later, she earned her Ph.D. from Princeton University. Her Ph.D. research was about a British art critic named Adrian Stokes.
She has taught architecture at many different schools. These include Princeton University, Barnard College, and Columbia University. She also taught at Ohio State University and the University of Kentucky. In New Zealand, she was the head of the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland in 2007. She also taught at Unitec and Victoria University there.
Peggy Deamer has been on the boards of important art and architecture groups. These include the Storefront for Art and Architecture and the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation. She is also on the board of Perspecta: The Yale Journal of Architecture.
