Percelle Ascott (born 10 June 1993) is an actor and writer from Zimbabwe and Britain. He is well-known for his roles in the CBBC show Wizards vs Aliens (2012–2014) and the Netflix series The Innocents (2018). Percelle also worked with Joivan Wade and Dee Kaate on funny projects like the web series Mandem on the Wall (2011–2013), the E4 show Youngers (2013–2014), and the movie The Weekend (2016).

Early Life and School

Percelle Ascott was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. When he was three years old, he moved to England with his family. He grew up in Penge, South London.

How He Started Acting

Percelle first found his love for acting when he was 11. This happened during a school play of The Jungle Book. His drama teacher at Woodcote High School helped him get into the BRIT School when he was 16. At the BRIT School, Percelle met Joivan Wade, who he would later work with on Mandem on the Wall.

Acting Career

Percelle Ascott started his TV career in 2010. He played Wayne in a BBC Two TV movie called Excluded. He also appeared in two episodes of the show Silent Witness.

Working with Friends

In 2010, Percelle and Joivan Wade were asked to perform a comedy sketch. They met Dee Kaate there, and together they created a web series called Mandem on the Wall. Later, the three friends were cast in the E4 series Youngers. Their characters from Mandem on the Wall were even part of the story. The Mandem on the Wall journey ended with a live show at the Hackney Empire in 2015.

Big Roles in TV Shows

From 2012 to 2014, Percelle starred in the CBBC science fiction show Wizards vs Aliens. He played Benny Sherwood, who was the best friend of the main character, Tom. Benny helped defend wizards and Earth from aliens called the Nekross.

Percelle also appeared in movies. He played Mike in the 2013 musical film Beat Girl. He then had a role as Ben in the drama movie X+Y. He worked again with Joivan Wade and Dee Kaate on The Weekend. They also made an online interactive sci-fi project called Genesis.

In 2018, Percelle starred in the Netflix supernatural series The Innocents. He acted alongside Sorcha Groundsell and Guy Pearce. That same year, he was in an episode of Doctor Who called "The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos". He also appeared in Rapman's web series Shiro's Story with Joivan Wade. More recently, Percelle played Cleveland in The Dare and Jesse in the third season of the Sky Atlantic police show Tin Star. He also appeared in the 2022 Netflix film I Came By.

Personal Life

In 2024, Percelle Ascott became a father to his daughter, Zuri.
