Perry Victor Moss was born on November 11, 1958. He is a former American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Perry Moss was a talented basketball player known for his exciting style of play. He had a great college career before playing professionally in the NBA and other leagues.

College Basketball Star

Perry Moss played college basketball at Northeastern University. He played for four seasons under coach Jim Calhoun. During his time there, he averaged 15.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

In his final year (1981–82), Perry was named the America East Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He finished his college career as the second-highest scorer in Northeastern's history, with 1,722 points in 113 games.

Amazing Plays and Big Wins

Perry Moss was known for his incredible athletic ability, including a 41-inch vertical leap. This allowed him to perform amazing acrobatic dunks that thrilled the fans.

In 1981, Perry helped lead the Northeastern Huskies to their first conference championship. He made many important shots during his college career. One famous moment was when he hit a half-court shot that sent a championship game against Holy Cross into overtime. Northeastern then won the game 76–69.

He also made a last-second shot in the first round of the NCAA tournament, helping Northeastern beat the 20th-ranked Fresno State. The next year, Perry and the Huskies repeated their success. Perry averaged 23.7 points per game in the tournament. He scored 23 points in a win against Saint Joseph's and 31 points in a close triple-overtime loss to Villanova. Throughout his college career, Perry scored over 30 points in a game eight times.

Professional Career Highlights

In 1982, Perry Moss was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the third round of the 1982 NBA draft. However, he was released before playing a game for them. He later signed with the New Jersey Nets but was also released.

Playing in the CBA

Perry played three years in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), which was a professional league. In 1984, he was named to the CBA All-Defensive Second Team because of his strong defense. In 1985, he won a CBA championship with the Tampa Bay Thrillers.

Time in the NBA

Perry Moss made his NBA debut with the Washington Bullets during the 1985–86 season. He later played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the same season. In the 1986–87 season, he played for the Golden State Warriors.

He signed with the Orlando Magic in 1989 but was released before the season started. In total, Perry played in 136 NBA games. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.5 assists per game during his NBA career.

Later Professional Years

After his time in the NBA, Perry Moss continued to play in the CBA for many years. He played for several teams, including the La Crosse Catbirds and the Topeka Sizzlers. He even played as a player-coach for the Hartford HellCats and the Connecticut Pride.

Perry finished his CBA career in 1995. He played his final professional basketball season in 1997 at the age of 39 for the Norwich Neptunes in the Atlantic Basketball Association.

Family and Recognition

Perry Moss comes from a family of talented basketball players. His brother, Peter Moss, was also a college basketball player for Brown University. Peter was named the Ivy League Men's Basketball Player of the Year in 1980. Their sister, Paula Moss, was also a great scorer for Tufts University.

In 2013, Perry Moss was honored for his achievements. He was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame as part of their Class of 2013.
