Early Life and Musical Journey
Pervin Chakar was born in 1981 in Mardin, Turkey. Her family is Kurdish. She attended a special fine arts high school in Amed, also known as Diyarbakır. There, she began learning to play the cello.
Discovering a Passion for Opera
While in high school, Pervin also enjoyed writing stories. She entered a writing competition in Ankara. At the party for the competition, she sang a song called "Ich liebe Dich" (which means "I love you") by the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven. One of the judges was very impressed by her singing. This judge gave her a CD of the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Listening to Maria Callas inspired Pervin greatly. It made her dream of becoming an opera singer, specifically a soprano.
Studying Music in Turkey and Italy
Pervin worked hard to achieve her dream. In 2003, she earned a bachelor's degree from Gazi University in Ankara. This degree allowed her to become a singing teacher. However, she wanted to learn even more about opera. In 2004, an Italian opera manager invited her to study in Italy. She enrolled at the Conservatorio Francesco Morlacchi in Perugia. There, she continued her studies and earned a master's degree.
A Professional Opera Career
Pervin lived in Italy for eleven years, where her professional career began. Her first performance was in 2006 at the Rosetum in Milan. This was an exciting start to her journey as an opera singer.
Performing Across Europe
Throughout her career, Pervin has performed many different roles in operas. She sang as Rosina in The Barber of Seville. She also played Tytania in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Another role was Megacles in L'Olympiade by Josef Mysliveček. Since 2016, Pervin Chakar has been living in Baden-Baden, Germany.

Pervin is known for her ability to sing in many languages. She has performed songs in ancient languages from Mesopotamia, such as Armenian, Kurdish, and Zazaki. She also performed traditional Kurdish folk songs. These songs were composed by the Ottoman Armenian composer Komitas.
