This judge gave her a CD of the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Listening to Maria Callas inspired Pervin greatly. It made her dream of becoming an opera singer, specifically a soprano.

Studying Music in Turkey and Italy

Pervin worked hard to achieve her dream. In 2003, she earned a bachelor's degree from Gazi University in Ankara. This degree allowed her to become a singing teacher. However, she wanted to learn even more about opera. In 2004, an Italian opera manager invited her to study in Italy. She enrolled at the Conservatorio Francesco Morlacchi [it] in Perugia. There, she continued her studies and earned a master's degree.

From then on, she learned many songs from Kurdish singers. She became a strong supporter of performing in the Kurdish language. She even composed music for a Kurdish poem called Qimil, written by Musa Anter.

Sharing Her Music with the World

In 2022, Pervin Chakar had a concert planned at Mardin Artuklu University. This university was special because it offered the first Kurdish language course in Turkey. However, there were discussions about her concert. Some reports suggested the concert was cancelled because her performance included Kurdish songs. Other reports claimed the cancellation was due to ticket sales for a hall meant for free events. Students from the university later shared videos of other artists singing in Kurdish at a festival there. Pervin continues to share her music and cultural heritage with audiences.
