Peterson Creek is a small river in eastern Ontario, Canada. It flows through two areas: Lanark Highlands and North Frontenac. This creek is part of a larger water system called the Ottawa River drainage basin. It travels about 9.5 kilometers (5.9 miles) from a lake with no name. The creek ends when it joins the South Branch of the Clyde River.
Where Peterson Creek Flows
Peterson Creek starts in North Frontenac township. It begins at a lake with no name, about 292 meters (958 feet) above sea level. This starting point is about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) northwest of the town of Ompah.
The creek first flows east to a place called Cruse Lake. Then, it turns and heads northeast. It passes through Bobs Lake. Along the way, another small stream joins it from Mountain Lake.
After that, Peterson Creek reaches Chathams Lake. It keeps flowing northeast and enters Lanark Highlands township. Another stream from Twin Lake joins the creek here.
The creek then turns east. A third stream, coming from McIntosh Lake, also flows into Peterson Creek. Finally, the creek reaches its end. It joins the South Branch of the Clyde River. This meeting point is about 189 meters (620 feet) above sea level. It's also about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) southwest of the community of Clyde Forks. The Clyde River then flows into the Mississippi River, which eventually leads to the Ottawa River.
