Petting is a small village in Bavaria, Germany. It's located near the town of Traunstein and right next to a beautiful lake called Waginger See.
What's cool about Petting is that it was built on what used to be an island! This happened during the last Ice Age, thousands of years ago. Even back then, people lived on this safe island. The name "Petting" actually means "place where there is water, at times."
