Phil Booth (born December 31, 1995) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard or shooting guard. Phil last played for Vanoli Cremona in Italy. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats.

Phil Booth's Early Basketball Journey

High School Success in Baltimore

Phil Booth played high school basketball at Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore. He was a top player there. In the 2013–14 season, he was named the Baltimore Prep Player of the Year. He also made the first team All-Catholic league. Phil still holds the record for the most points scored at Mount Saint Joseph High School.

College Career at Villanova University

Phil Booth joined Villanova as a freshman in the 2014–15 season. He quickly became an important player for the team. At the end of his first year, he was named the Philadelphia Big Five Rookie of the Year.

Winning a National Championship

During his second year, in the 2015–16 season, Phil continued to play a key role. He scored a team-high 20 points in the National Championship game. Villanova won this game against North Carolina. He made two important free throws with only 35 seconds left. That season, Phil averaged 7.0 points per game.

Dealing with Injuries

In his third year, Phil played only three games. He had to take a "redshirt" year due to ongoing knee pain. This meant he could recover and still have a year of college eligibility left.

He faced another injury in his redshirt junior year. Phil broke his right hand during a game on January 23, 2018. He returned to play on February 21, scoring 14 points. Even with the injury, he helped Villanova win their second championship during his time there.

Finishing Strong at Villanova

As a senior, Phil Booth had a great season. He averaged 18.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He became the ninth player in Villanova history to score over 1,500 points and have over 300 assists. He also played in a school-record 148 games.

Phil Booth's Professional Basketball Journey

After college, Phil Booth was not chosen in the 2019 NBA draft. However, he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2019 NBA Summer League. He later signed a contract with the Washington Wizards but was waived before the season started.

Playing in the NBA G League

Capital City Go-Go (2019–2020)

In October 2019, Phil joined the Capital City Go-Go. This team is part of the NBA G League. On January 4, 2020, he scored 22 points in a game.

Oklahoma City Blue (2021)

In February 2021, Phil was acquired by the Oklahoma City Blue, another NBA G League team. He played six games for them. During this time, he averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

Playing Overseas

Filou Oostende (2021–2022)

In June 2021, Phil Booth signed with Oostende in Belgium. This team plays in the Belgian BNXT League and the Basketball Champions League. He helped them win the Belgian League championship in 2022.

Budućnost VOLI (2022)

In July 2022, Phil moved to Budućnost VOLI in Montenegro. They play in the Montenegrin First League, the ABA League, and the EuroCup.

Petkim Spor (2022–2023)

On December 31, 2022, Phil signed with Petkim Spor in Turkey. This team plays in the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL).

SIG Strasbourg (2023–2024)

In June 2023, he joined SIG Strasbourg in France. They are part of the French LNB Pro A league.

Vanoli Cremona (2024)

In July 2024, Phil signed with Vanoli Cremona in Italy. They play in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA).

Phil Booth's Family Life

Phil's father, Phil Booth Sr., also played college basketball. He played for Coppin State from 1987 to 1990.
