Philippe Harache was born on April 12, 1954, in Orbec, France. He is a French aerospace engineer and a successful businessman. Early Life and Career
Philippe Harache studied at several well-known schools. He went to the Institut polytechnique des sciences avancées, the Sorbonne Graduate Business School, INSEAD, and the Harvard Business School. These schools helped him learn a lot about engineering and business.
He started his career in 1978. He worked in the helicopter part of a company called Aérospatiale. This company built many different types of aircraft.
Working in Asia
Mr. Harache then moved to Asia for his job. In 1980, he worked in Hong Kong. In 1982, he moved to Singapore. There, he became the CEO of Samaero. A CEO is like the main boss or leader of a company. Samaero was a company connected to Aérospatiale.
Leadership at Eurocopter
In 1992, Philippe Harache joined Eurocopter. Eurocopter is a company that makes helicopters. He first became the chief of staff for the CEO. This means he worked closely with the top leader.
In 1993, he became the deputy CEO of Eurocopter Holdings. A deputy CEO is a high-ranking leader, often the second-in-command. In 1994, he was named the CEO of Eurocopter International.
He became the main deputy CEO of Eurocopter in 2001. He worked in this important role until 2010. After that, he retired, and Christian Gras took over his position.
Since 2002, Mr. Harache has also been an adviser to France on foreign trade. This means he helps France with business and trade with other countries.
