The Phillip Burton Federal Building & United States Courthouse is a very tall building in San Francisco. It has 21 floors and stands 312 feet (95 meters) high. This important building is located at 450 Golden Gate Avenue, close to San Francisco's Civic Center and the San Francisco City Hall.

The building takes up a whole city block. It is surrounded by Golden Gate Avenue, Turk Street, Polk Street, and Larkin Street. It was finished in 1964 and was one of the first tall office buildings in San Francisco.

This building is named after Phillip Burton, who was a U.S. Representative. A U.S. Representative is a person elected by citizens to speak for them in the United States Congress.
