Phoemela Baranda (born October 1, 1980) is a Filipina model and actress from the Philippines. Many people know her as a news anchor for the Star Patrol part of the news show TV Patrol, where she worked from 2004 to 2010.
She is a member of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP). Phoemela often appears on magazine covers and in advertisements. She has also acted in several movies and TV shows. In 2008, she was a contestant on the reality show Pinoy Fear Factor.

Career in Modeling and Television
Phoemela Baranda began her modeling career at the young age of 13. She was chosen after joining a search for a clothing brand called Pink Soda. Her first TV commercial was for a skincare product. In 1994, she was the runner-up in the Elite Model Look competition in the Philippines.
This success helped her get more modeling jobs. She walked on fashion runways and appeared in many ads. She was also on the cover of popular magazines like Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, and Marie Claire.
Moving into Acting and Hosting
In 2000, Phoemela started acting with a small role in the TV series Pangako sa ’Yo. Soon after, she was in a show called Cool Dudes. In 2003, she played a character named Esmeralda in the series Narito ang Puso Ko.
That same year, she became a host on the reality show Extra Challenge. She got the job after the previous host, Miriam Quiambao, left. Later, she moved to the TV network ABS-CBN. She hosted a segment on the entertainment news show The Buzz. This led to her famous role as the Star Patrol anchor on TV Patrol.
Personal Life
Phoemela Baranda earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in 2001. She enjoys staying active by going to the gym and practicing bikram yoga. She also plays sports like badminton and squash and has competed in local tournaments.
She has a daughter named Nichole, who she had when she was 19. Nichole became known after she joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: All In.
Phoemela has been in a long-term relationship with Jason Choachuy, a businessman and race car driver. In 2021, they welcomed their first child together.
