Piero Chiambretti: Early Life and First Steps
Piero Chiambretti was born on May 30, 1956, in Aosta, Italy. He grew up in Turin. Later, he moved to Bologna to study arts, music, and entertainment. While studying, Piero also performed in cabaret shows. He worked as an entertainer at tourist resorts, gaining early experience.
First TV Appearances
Piero's first time on television was in 1977. He co-hosted a show called Non siamo gazzose. This show was on Grp, a local TV channel in Piedmont. In 1982, he started working for RAI, a big Italian TV company. He appeared in some shows made for kids.
Rising to Fame in the 1980s
Starting in 1988, Piero became part of the TV show Va Pensiero. This show was broadcast on Rai 3. His work on Va Pensiero was very successful. It helped him win a special award called a Telegatto. This award recognized him as the "Revelation of the Year."
Hosting Major TV Events
Sanremo Music Festival
In 1997, Piero Chiambretti was chosen for a big role. He became one of the presenters for the 47th Sanremo Music Festival. He hosted alongside famous presenters Mike Bongiorno and Valeria Marini. The Sanremo Music Festival is a very important music event in Italy.
After the Festival: DopoFestival
The next year, in 1998, Piero hosted the DopoFestival. This show aired right after each night of the Sanremo Music Festival. It featured discussions and comments about the song contest. He returned to host the DopoFestival again in 2007. In 2008, he presented the Sanremo Music Festival once more. This time, he hosted with Pippo Baudo.
New Shows and Channels
In 2002, Piero created a new TV show. It was called Chiambretti c'è. He worked on this show with Gianni Boncompagni. After a period away from RAI, Piero moved to another channel, La7. There, he hosted a show called Markette – tutto fa brodo in TV. He was helped by the showgirl Sylvie Lubamba.
Working with Mediaset
Later in his career, Piero Chiambretti started working for Mediaset. This is another major Italian television company. He presented several popular shows there. These included Chiambretti Night, Chiambretti Supermarket, and Striscia la Notizia. He continued to be a well-known face on Italian television.
