Pierre Png Tiang Huat (born on October 29, 1973) is a famous actor, comedian, and businessman from Singapore. He is well-known for his roles in many TV shows on Singapore's Channel 5 and Channel 8. Some of his popular shows include The Gentlemen and When Duty Calls.
Early in his career, Pierre Png was loved for playing the funny character Phua Chu Beng in the long-running TV comedy Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd. He also played a husband facing challenges in the 2008 drama The Little Nyonya. In 2013, he played a villain in The Journey: A Voyage, which helped him win the Star Awards for Best Actor. Later, in 2018, he appeared in the big Hollywood movie Crazy Rich Asians.

Pierre Png was born in Singapore on October 29, 1973. He went to St Gabriel's Primary School and then to Holy Innocents' High School.
Pierre Png's Acting Career
Pierre Png first got interested in acting after his National Service. This happened when he acted in the 1998 movie Forever Fever. He enjoyed it so much that he decided to take acting classes. In the same year, Pierre won a talent show called The Fame Awards on Channel 5.
He made his first TV appearance on Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd. After that, he starred in many other shows on Channel 5. Later, he started acting in Chinese dramas on Channel 8. He was even nominated for the Most Popular Newcomer Award in 2001. In 2006, he received his first nomination for the Best Actor award for his role in The Shining Star.
Pierre Png finally won the Best Actor award in 2014. This was for his role as the tough character Hei Long in the big drama The Journey: A Voyage. In 2014, he also got a main role in the Channel 5 drama Zero Calling. For this role, he won the "Best Actor" award at the 19th Asian Television Awards. He also acted alongside Constance Wu and Henry Golding in the Warner Bros. film Crazy Rich Asians. This movie was his first time acting in a Hollywood film.
Business Ventures
In August 2021, Pierre Png opened a restaurant and bar called Tipsy Flamingo at Raffles City. Before this, he was a co-owner of another restaurant and bar called 3O1 Bar & Kitchen, which closed in 2020.
Pierre Png's Personal Life
Pierre Png has been married to former actress Andrea De Cruz since 2003. They first met and started dating in 1999. Their relationship became widely known when Andrea faced a serious health issue. Pierre bravely donated part of his liver to help her. Because of medical advice related to this important surgery, the couple decided not to have children.
