Pierre Renoir (born March 21, 1885 – died March 11, 1952) was a French actor who performed on stage and in movies. He came from a very artistic family! His father was the famous impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir. His younger brother, Jean Renoir, became a well-known film director. Pierre Renoir was also the first actor to play the famous detective Inspector Jules Maigret in a movie called Night at the Crossroads, which his brother Jean directed.

Pierre Renoir was born in Paris, France, on March 21, 1885. His parents were the famous painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Aline Charigot.

He married actress Véra Sergine in 1914, but they divorced in 1925.

One of Pierre Renoir's most famous roles was as Jėricho the ragman in the movie Children of Paradise (Les Enfants du Paradis), which came out in 1945. He took on this role at the last minute.

Pierre Renoir also briefly led the Théâtre de l'Athénée in Paris. This was a famous theater. He took over after the death of its previous director in 1951.

Pierre Renoir's son, Claude Renoir, also worked in movies as a cinematographer. A cinematographer is the person in charge of the camera and lighting for a film.
