Pierre Seron (born 9 February 1942 – died 24 May 2017) was a talented Belgian comic book artist. He was well-known for creating exciting comic series that many people enjoyed.
About Pierre Seron
Pierre Seron was born in Liège, Belgium. His father was an engineer, which meant his family moved around quite a bit. They lived in different places like Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and various towns in France, such as Libourne and near Bordeaux. Eventually, they returned to Liège, where Pierre began his art studies at the Saint-Luc school.
Starting His Comic Career
Pierre Seron started his journey in the comics world by helping other artists. He worked as an assistant for people like Dino Attanasio and Mittéï. Sometimes, he used a special pen name, or "pseudonym," called Foal. He even helped with a well-known comic series called Modeste et Pompon.
His Famous Comic Series
Pierre Seron soon began creating his own comic stories. His most famous series is Les Petits Hommes (which means The Little Men). This comic first appeared in Spirou magazine on 7 September 1967. It was so popular that it continued to be published until 2004!
He also created another series called Aurore et Ulysse, which is also known as Les Centaures. This series started in Spirou magazine on 23 June 1977. Later in his life, Pierre Seron lived in the south of France. He continued to work on his comics, even creating a series called Les Petites Femmes (The Little Women).
Family in Comics
Pierre Seron's nephew, Frédéric Seron, also became a comic book author. Frédéric is known by his pen name "Clarke" and is famous for writing the comic series Mélusine. It seems that talent for creating comics runs in their family!
