Geography of Pinehurst
Pinehurst is located in the state of Texas. It covers an area of about 9 square miles (23.4 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.
History of Pinehurst
The area where Pinehurst is now had a post office way back in 1860. It was first called "Prairie Home." Later, in 1871, its name changed to "Hunter's Retreat." Finally, in 1904, after a railroad was built nearby, the town got its current name, Pinehurst.
