Pink Panther and Sons is an American animated TV show. It was made by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Mirisch-Geoffrey-DePatie-Freleng. The show first aired on NBC from 1984 to 1985. Later, it moved to ABC in 1986. The show is based on the famous Pink Panther character, who was created in 1963.

What the Show is About

This TV series follows the adventures of the Pink Panther's two sons. They are Pinky, who is a pre-teen, and his younger brother, Panky, who is a toddler. They hang out with their friends, who are part of a group called the Rainbow Panthers.

The Rainbow Panthers include:

  • Chatta, who is pretty and smart.
  • Rocko, who loves to fight.
  • Murfel, who talks in a funny, muffled way.
  • Annie, who wears overalls and is very scientific.
  • Punkin, who sometimes gets things mixed up.

In each episode, the Rainbow Panthers learn about growing up and friendship. They also often face off against a group of lions called the Howl Angels. Each episode also includes short cartoons, about three to five minutes long, featuring the original Pink Panther. These short cartoons usually appear at the beginning and end of the main story with Pinky and Panky.

Other Fun Stuff

A children's book called Pink Panther: Fun at the Picnic was also made. It was based on the TV series. In this book, the Pink Panther actually speaks, which is different from the cartoon. The story is about the Pink Panther being a magician at a party and Pinky helping him. Panky feels left out, so the Pink Panther makes "two Pink Panthers" appear on stage, showing both Pinky and Panky.
