Pisinemo is a small community in Pima County, Arizona, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). In the 2020 census, about 359 people lived there.

The name Pisinemo comes from the O'odham language, where it is Pisin Moʼo. This means "Buffalo Head."

Where is Pisinemo?

Pisinemo is located in southern Arizona at coordinates 32°2′28″N 112°18′52″W / 32.04111°N 112.31444°W / 32.04111; -112.31444. It covers an area of about 1.7 square miles (4.4 square kilometers), and all of it is land.

The name "Pisinemo" actually came about because of a mistake. The Motor Vehicle Division tried to put the traditional name, Pisin Mo'o, on road signs along Highway 86. This highway runs through the Tohono O'odham Nation, which is the land of the Tohono O'odham people.
