History of Plano
Plano officially became a city in 1916. Many of the first people who settled here came from a place called Plano, Illinois. That's why they chose the name "Plano" for this new city in Iowa.
The city's town hall building also has a museum. Inside, you can see cool models of parts of the town. These models show how Plano looked a long time ago, in the early 20th century.
