History of Platte Center
Platte Center was officially planned in 1880. This happened when the railroad was being built through the area. The village got its name because it is located near the center of Platte County. Five years later, in 1885, Platte Center became an official village.

- Alfred Maximilian Gruenther was a very important person from Platte Center. He was a World War II general. Later, he became the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe (SACEUR) for NATO from 1953 to 1956. This was a very high-ranking military position.
