Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon (ポケットモンスター サン・ムーン, Poketto Monsutā San & Mūn) are super fun role-playing video games. They were made by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company. You can play them on the Nintendo 3DS. These games came out in November 2016. This was a special time because it was the 20th birthday of the Pokémon series!
Before they were officially announced, people found out about the games online. Then, Nintendo officially showed them off in a special video called a Nintendo Direct.

Discovering the Alola Region
The adventures in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon happen in a sunny place called the Alola region. Alola is made of four big islands with warm weather.
Your Pokémon Journey
When you start the game, you get your very first Pokémon! Then, you go on an exciting journey all around Alola. You can catch and train many other Pokémon as you explore.
Facing Team Skull
While you are exploring, you might run into a group called Team Skull. They are a mischievous group who like to cause trouble. You will need to battle them sometimes to stop their plans.
Special Alolan Pokémon
Some Pokémon in Alola look different from how they look in other regions. These are called "Alolan forms." They have special appearances and types because of the unique Alola environment!
