Posada del Bierzo is a small and interesting village. It is located in the municipality of Carracedelo. This village is part of the El Bierzo region. You can find it in the province of Leon, within the larger area of Castile and Leon in Spain.

History of Posada del Bierzo
In the late 1950s, a big project began. Workers started building the Barcena reservoir. This new reservoir would flood two older villages. These villages were called ancient Barcena and Posada del Rio.
Because of the flooding, the people living there had to move. A new village was built for them. This new village was named Posada del Bierzo.
Population Changes Over Time
The number of people living in Posada del Bierzo has changed over the years. In 2000, there were 175 residents. By 2013, the population had decreased to 150 people.

Posada del Bierzo has several special places to visit. These buildings and spots tell stories about the village.
- The Square Simón González Ferrando: This important square was opened on September 16, 1961. A famous general, Francisco Franco, was there for the opening.
