The movie was directed by Mike Disa and features the voices of actors like Stephen Mangan, Jim Broadbent, Rupert Grint, and David Tennant. It also includes singing by Ronan Keating. The film was released in the UK on May 23, 2014. It tells a story about Pat, a friendly postman, who enters a TV talent show, leading to some unexpected robot trouble!

The Story of Postman Pat's Big Adventure

Patrick "Pat" Clifton, known as Postman Pat (voiced by Stephen Mangan), is a kind postman. He has delivered mail in the village of Greendale for many years. Pat dreams of taking his wife, Sara (Susan Duerden), on a special honeymoon trip to Italy. He hopes to get a bonus from his job at the Special Delivery Service (SDS) to pay for it.

However, the new boss, Edwin Carbunkle (Peter Woodward), has cancelled all bonuses. He thinks being friendly wastes time. Carbunkle wants to make SDS more efficient by using robots instead of people.

When Pat gets home, his son Julian (Sandra Teles) shows him a TV talent show called You're the One. The host, Simon Cowbell (Robin Atkin Downes), announces that auditions are coming to Greendale. The winner will get a holiday to Italy and a music contract!

Pat decides to try out. To everyone's surprise, his amazing singing voice (provided by Ronan Keating) wins the audition! Pat is set to sing again in the final competition. He will compete against another winner named Josh (Rupert Grint). Josh's Scottish manager, Wilf (David Tennant), really wants his client to win, no matter what.

Robots Take Over Greendale

The CEO of SDS, Mr. Brown (Jim Broadbent), and Edwin Carbunkle watch Pat on TV. They decide to use Pat for a publicity campaign, even giving him his own TV show. Carbunkle says that while Pat is away, a robot copy called the "Patbot 3000" will deliver the mail. There's even a "Jessbot" to replace Pat's cat, Jess!

After Pat and Jess leave, the Patbot starts delivering mail. But it acts very strangely. People in Greendale begin to complain about Pat's odd behavior. Sara and Julian also start to worry about Pat. Meanwhile, Ben Taylor (TJ Ramini), the manager at SDS, is fired by Carbunkle. Ben thinks Pat doesn't want him anymore, not realizing it's a robot. Wilf tries to stop "Pat" from winning, also not knowing it's a robot. But all his plans fail. The more Pat's family and friends worry, the more Pat feels bad about joining the contest.

Pat tries to tell Sara why he entered the competition, but he can't. He starts to fear he has pushed his family away. Soon after Pat leaves for the final competition, Ben and Jess discover the truth. There is more than one Pat! Edwin Carbunkle's real plan is revealed. Carbunkle is making these robots to try and take over the world! Ben quickly tells Sara and Julian about Carbunkle's terrible plan.

Saving the Day

Now knowing Carbunkle's evil plan, Sara tells everyone in Greendale the truth. She explains that deep down, Pat hasn't changed. Everyone agrees to go to London to support Pat and stop Carbunkle. Meanwhile, Jess, who hid in an SDS helicopter, makes his way to Pat's performance. He helps Pat escape after a Patbot and Carbunkle lock him in a dressing room. Carbunkle reveals that Pat's fame was just a trick to replace him with Patbots. Pat and Jess are chased by the Patbots and the Jessbot. But they outsmart them and get inside the theater.

On stage, a Patbot performs instead of the real Pat. Wilf, who figured out it was a robot earlier, uses a magnet to unmask the Patbot. Then, the real Pat interrupts the show. He gives a speech about what's truly important. He talks about how he forgot to spend time with those he cares about. Carbunkle releases more Patbots to attack Pat, Simon, and Brown. He's tired of them stopping his plans. But Josh saves them! He uses Carbunkle's phone to turn off all the Patbots before they can hurt anyone. Pat doesn't know that Sara and his friends from Greendale have arrived during the chaos.

After Carbunkle is fired and arrested, everything goes back to normal. Pat, not knowing Sara is listening, says he only entered the competition to win the honeymoon tickets. Sara calls his name. When Pat sees Sara, Julian, and all his friends from Greendale, he realizes Sara knows the truth. She has forgiven him. Pat decides to perform, but changes his act a little. In the end, Pat sings Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours. Brown, Josh, Wilf, and the people of Greendale join in. Sara also takes part! Pat and Sara win the holiday to Italy. They give the recording contract to Josh, making Wilf happy too. Everyone is friends again.
