Ellen Jane Carr (born 13 August 1950) is an English actress. She is famous for her role as Mary McGregor in the movie The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969). Many people also know her as the voice of Pud'n in the cartoon The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Early Life and Training
Jane Carr was born in Loughton, Essex, England. Her father, Patrick Carr, worked as a steel erector, building structures with steel. Her mother, Gwendoline Rose Carr, worked at a post office.
From a young age, Jane was interested in acting. She went to the Arts Educational Schools in London to train as a performer.
Acting Career
Jane Carr has had a long and successful career in movies, on stage, and on television. She is also a talented voice actress.
Movies
Carr's first big movie role was in 1969. She played a student named Mary McGregor in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She had to act as if her character was aging from 11 to 18 years old.
She has appeared in many other films. Some of her more recent roles include:

Stage Performances
Carr is also a celebrated stage actress. In 1977, she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award, a major British theatre award, for her role in the play Once a Catholic.
In 1978, she joined the famous Royal Shakespeare Company. This group is known for performing the plays of William Shakespeare. She received another Olivier nomination in 1982 for her work in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She also played Wendy in a 1982 production of Peter Pan.
In 1987, she moved to the United States. From 2006 to 2009, she performed on Broadway in the musical Mary Poppins as Mrs. Brill. She was also in the original cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2014.
Television Roles
Jane Carr has appeared in many popular TV shows in both the UK and the US. In 1980, she was in an episode of the British drama Minder. From 1988 to 1992, she had a main role as Louise in the American show Dear John.
She has made guest appearances on many well-known shows, including:

Many younger fans know Jane Carr from her voice work in cartoons. She was the voice of Pud'n on The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
She also voiced Grandma Winifred Fletcher in the Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb. Another one of her famous voice roles is Mama Cosma, Cosmo's mother, in the Nickelodeon series The Fairly OddParents.
