The Pottawatomi River is a cool river located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. It flows through the areas of Owen Sound and Georgian Bluffs in Grey County. This river is part of the huge Great Lakes Basin. It eventually flows into Owen Sound, which is a part of Georgian Bay on Lake Huron.
Where Does the Pottawatomi River Flow?
The Pottawatomi River starts its journey in a field within Georgian Bluffs. It begins by flowing towards the southeast. After a bit, it turns and flows northeast for the rest of its path.

- The river passes under Ontario Highway 21 near a community called Springmount.
- It also flows over the Niagara Escarpment at a spot known as Jones Falls. The Niagara Escarpment is a long cliff that stretches across parts of North America.
- As the river continues, it meets a smaller stream called Maxwell Creek. Maxwell Creek joins the Pottawatomi River from the right side.
- Finally, the river enters the town of Owen Sound. Here, it reaches its end, emptying into Georgian Bay.
