The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a very important leader. This person represents the Federation, which is one of the two main parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The President is also the head of the government's executive branch. This means they help make sure the laws are carried out.

How the President Is Chosen
Choosing the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a special process. It involves several steps and different groups of people. This helps make sure everyone has a say.
Nominating Candidates
First, people are nominated for the job. This happens in the House of Peoples of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This House has three main groups, called caucuses. These groups represent Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs.
At least one-third of the members from any of these three groups can suggest names. They nominate one person for President. They also nominate two people for Vice-President.
Approving the Nominees
After names are suggested, the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina gets involved. This is another part of the Parliament. The House of Representatives must approve the people nominated for President and Vice-Presidents.
Final Confirmation
Finally, the House of Peoples makes the last decision. They vote to confirm the choices made by the House of Representatives. To be confirmed, the nominees need a majority of votes from all three caucuses. This means most Bosniak, Croat, and Serb members must agree.
Removing the President from Office
A President can be removed from their job, but it is a very serious process. It only happens if there are strong reasons.
First, two-thirds of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina must vote for it. This means a large majority of lawmakers must agree.
After that vote, the request goes to the Federal Constitutional Court. This court is like a special judge for the country's laws. The President can only be removed if the Constitutional Court agrees with the Parliament's request.
